About the Job

The Facilities Associate is responsible for general maintenance and custodial projects in the Weisman Art Museum (WAM). They support Front of House (FOH) and Events teams, assisting with event tasks and visitor experience duties across departments while maintaining security for works of art on view. The ideal candidate must have previous experience working in a hands-on, task-driven environment. We seek a confident and enthusiastic individual to work in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.

Hours:

24 hours/week onsite, Sunday-Tuesday (Part-time).

Job Responsibilities:

1. Support student custodial and gallery staff (25%)
2. Perform maintenance duties (50%)
3. Establish and work to continually improve museum visitor and staff experience (25%)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least four years
• Ability to work mornings, evenings & weekends
• 6 months or more experience in custodial or facilities maintenance
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use stairs daily
• Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures
• Ability to read, understand, and complete written and verbal requests and work assignments in English
• Ability to stand for long periods, up to four hours
• Dependability, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
• Obtain lift certification through UMN within 3 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a museum environment
