Priority Pet Urgent Care in Hammond, LA is seeking a Part-Time Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our brand new clinic. You will support urgent care operations from 4 pm to 12 midnight, including animal restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, and medical/nursing care under supervision.

We are available for urgent care pet needs every day from 4 pm – 12 midnight. We are eager and ready to serve the local community and their pets and are currently looking for an additional veterinary assistant to help us achieve that goal!

*This position will require working weekend shifts*
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Pay Range:$18 - $20/hr. depending on level of experience
