Job summary

Alliance Animal Health in Germantown, TN is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for weekend, part-time hours. Responsibilities include patient restraint, triage, lab sample collection, imaging, nursing care, medication administration, and help with surgical prep and anesthesia monitoring.

The role requires at least 1 year experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask. We offer comprehensive benefits and ongoing training; weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets during examinations and procedures.
• Triage incoming patients and provide nursing care.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; process tests and radiographs.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging and anesthesia monitoring.
• Communicate treatment plans effectively to clients.
• Assist with surgical preparation and assistance.

Job description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We're looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience required.
• Weekend availability is a requirement for this position.

• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!

Pay Range:

$17 - $20/hr depending on experience level
