Job summary

The Walt Disney Company in Durham, NC is seeking a part-time Security Officer to join a dedicated team responsible for the safety of cast, crew, guests and coworkers. The role involves entry checks, event security, patrols, incident reporting and collaboration with local responders.

You’ll work a shift-based schedule, need at least 1 year in security or related field, and must communicate clearly in English. The position offers benefits and opportunities to participate in high-profile events.

Qualifications

• 1 year of corporate security, law enforcement or military experience.
• Excellent communication skills, fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to make quick decisions using training and common sense.
• Team orientation and willingness to collaborate.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job outdoors in all weather.
• Flexible workdays/hours and ability to work some overtime.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, check company IDs, and provide temporary IDs at building entrances.
• Evaluate and screen the audience line at live TV shows.
• Be a security presence at movie premiers, live performances, events, or private parties.
• Patrol hallways and building perimeters to spot safety issues or irregularities.
• Fill out the logbook precisely and completely.
• Answer questions asked by visitors and employees in a friendly, professional way.
• Use training to diffuse tense situations.
• Respond to medical or fire incidents, and work with local first responders.
• Assist private security details brought by celebrities and dignitaries.
• Control messenger flow and package delivery.
• Utilize technology to report and document incidents and manage information flow.
• Perform walk-through evaluation at off-site events.
