Job summary

The Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Olympia, WA is seeking a Front of House Manager for weekend and evening events. This part-time hourly role oversees guest relations, volunteers, servers, bartenders, and other staff to deliver a safe and welcoming experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating all front-of-house activities, handling cash and tills, and maintaining professional communication with patrons. A high school diploma and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Basic math, cash handling, and record-keeping knowledge.
• Awareness of basic food handling and concessions sales.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage detail.
• Top-notch customer service and patron experience focus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems quickly.
• Valid CPR/First Responder or Food Handler training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• FOH Managers are the lead staff member on duty for events and handle evacuation as needed.
• Oversee life & safety matters in front of the curtain and ensure audience comfort and safety.
• Primary contact for patrons, volunteers, vendors, and day-of event coordinators.
• Coordinate volunteer activity and enforce house rules and egress.
• Collaborate with the Director of Event Services for advance show planning.
• Communicate with guests in a clear, enthusiastic manner.
• Distribute, collect, and balance tills and POS terminals for concessions and bar sales.
• Perform duties according to safety procedures and cash handling policies.
• Maintain a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Document show and incident reports for records.
