Job summary

Mercy House is seeking a part-time Shuttle Driver in Huntington Beach, CA. The role involves transporting guests to and from the Emergency Shelter Program, planning routes, and performing safety checks to ensure safe operation of shuttling vehicles.

Beyond driving, you will support shelter logistics and assist with meals and facility cleanliness, with a focus on safety and dignified service for program participants. Fluency in Spanish is a plus and a valid CA driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record with no limitations.
• Comfortable driving large vehicles (≈24 feet) with wide turning ratios.
• Ability to work with individuals with urgent health needs and case management considerations.

Responsibilities

• Drive program vehicles safely to predefined locations.
• Check safety restraints and ensure proper use.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety equipment.
• Plan daily routes and generate reports for management.
• Assist shelter activities including meals and cleanliness of facilities.
• Attend staff meetings and training, and support maintenance tasks.
