Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Dual Diagnosis unit at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester, CT. This part-time evening shift role involves comprehensive patient assessments, pain management, and collaborative care planning.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program with CT RN licensure, PMT and de-escalation training, and CPR certification on hire. PMT certification within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Connecticut.
• Must be trained in PMT and de-escalation techniques.
• CPR certification required upon hire.
• PMT certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patient condition and care needs.
• Assess and reassess pain, using appropriate pain management tools and techniques.
• Educate patients and families regarding pain management.
• Develop and revise individualized treatment plans based on assessment and patient response.
• Evaluate overall treatment plans daily for effectiveness.
• Follow the five medication rights to reduce errors.
• Document the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with treatment team and communicate effectively.
• Provide psychotherapeutic treatment to patients and document interventions.
