Job summary

North Saint Paul Maplewood & Oakdale School District 622 is seeking a Part Time On Call Custodian to cover evening shifts as needed. Location varies across district and start date 09/01/2023. Pay is $19.69 per hour; background check and physical are required.

You may work 2:30pm–7:30pm as needed, with duties including cleaning, setup, and light maintenance. Join a team that supports campus operations, ensures safe facilities, and maintains clean spaces for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Solid work history with prior experience.
• Maintains good hygiene with neat and clean appearance.
• Good attendance.
• Ability to work in diverse environments with integrity.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to learn and accept feedback.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dusts, arranges furniture, empties trash and pencil sharpeners, cleans chalkboards and sets up for activities.
• Washes walls, woodwork and windows, and cleans and polishes metal surfaces. Cleans and maintains floors.
• Wet mops and spot cleans floors.
• Cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes restrooms, locker rooms, and drinking fountains.
• Scrub and wax floors manually or by machine.
• Haul trash.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas.
• Performs minor repair maintenance.
• Take action to prevent emergencies by repairing or reporting unsafe conditions.
• Assists in maintenance of lawns, landscaping, surfaces and playgrounds, including snow/ice removal.
• Assists with set ups and teardowns for events.
• Operates security systems and secures building at shift end.
• Treat all users with courtesy.
• Move heavy furniture and loads.
• Estimate needs and requisitions for supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintain safe maintenance practices and safety compliance.
