Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Progressive Care Unit. This entry level role provides administrative support and patient care area coordination to promote an organized, efficient delivery of care.

The position is Part-Time, Evening Shift (2PM–10PM) with weekend and holiday rotations. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of medical clerical experience or related customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience; hospital/clinic setting preferred.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Processes admissions, bed assignments, and charting requirements.
• Maintains patient records and coordinates with care teams and external contacts.
• Facilitates communication between physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Monitors supplies and supports unit workflow in a fast-paced environment.
