Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Driver I - Non-DOT at Manheim. You’ll be part of an energetic team driving vehicles through auction lanes and parking inventory, helping ensure a smooth experience for customers and colleagues.

No prior experience is required, and you’ll gain shop-floor exposure in a dynamic automotive environment. Shifts are evenings (Thu-Sun 3 PM–10 PM) with hourly pay of $16.30, and you’ll follow safety procedures, assist with vehicle movement, and support the auction process

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Auction experience preferred.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale days and throughout auction grounds.
• Transport vehicles to designated areas on auction premises and to customer dealerships.
• Stage, organize and park vehicles in the correct order as directed.
• Help locate misplaced vehicles or move inventory as needed.
• Prepare vehicles for movement by performing basic tasks (inflating tires, jump-starting).
• Communicate vehicle issues to relevant teams.
• Provide helpful, friendly support to customers, dealers, and coworkers.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safety culture.
• May require overtime based on business needs.

What You'll Do

You'll spend your day behind the wheel, helping ensure vehicles are in the right place at the right time. You will:

• Safely drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale days and throughout auction grounds, following all auction driving procedures, traffic laws and defensive driving practices.
• Transport vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises, as well as customer dealerships and business locations, providing a professional and courteous experience.
• Stage, organize and park vehicles in the correct order based on direction from supervisors or team leaders.
• Help locate misplaced vehicles or move inventory as needed.
• Prepare vehicles for movement by performing basic tasks such as inflating tires and jump-starting vehicles.
• Communicate vehicle issues to the appropriate teams.
• Provide helpful, friendly support to customers, dealers, account representatives, rental agencies and coworkers.
• Follow all safety and health procedures and actively contribute to a culture of safety excellence.
• May be required to work overtime based on business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver's license and safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED
• Previous auction experience
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to walk long distances
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

This role may involve frequent exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
