Job summary

Scheels in Great Falls, MT seeks a friendly cashier to greet customers, process transactions accurately, and promote the digital receipt program. You will operate the register, balance cash, and help maintain a clean, stocked checkout area.

The position is part-time, ~20 hours weekly, with evening availability and two weekend shifts per month; compensation starts at $15.00 per hour DOE. We offer ESOP, 401(k) with Roth, health coverage, and other benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers with a smile as they enter and exit the store.
  • Accurately scan items and ensure proper payment before checkout.
  • Promote the Scheels Visa card and explain benefits.
  • Ask customers to sign up for digital receipts.
  • Balance cash drawer and follow cash handling policies.

Compensation/Scheduling:

Compensation $15.00 hourly DOE. Evening availability is required (to include two weekends per month). Average 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
  • Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
  • Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
  • Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
  • Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
  • Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts
  • End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
  • Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
  • Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policies
  • Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
  • Keep the checkout area stocked and clean

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
