Job description

A Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking all food items based on standardized recipes for the Corporate HQ outlet, Banquets/Catering in meeting rooms, and the Executive Lounge, while maintaining the highest standards to produce an appealing and appetizing product. He/she is also responsible for ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and work areas, while minimizing waste and maximizing cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State requirements).
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well under stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance as per Aimbridge Hospitality standards, which may vary according to hotel needs.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Meet certification requirements relevant to the position, such as Food Handlers Safety.
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
  • Have thorough knowledge of menus and preparation methods according to hotel standards.
  • Keep all storage areas clean and organized.
  • Complete necessary food and station preparations before opening to ensure prompt and efficient service.
  • Prepare and display buffet food items according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Maintain a station on the kitchen line during operating hours to prepare food to order, ensuring high standards of efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Prepare food for banquets following the specifications of Banquet Event Orders.
  • Prepare and serve food for the Associate Cafeteria as specified.
  • Follow Aimbridge Hospitality standard recipes for all foods.
  • Assist in preparing specials under the direction of restaurant leadership.
  • Break down buffets and kitchen lines, and store food and equipment properly at the end of each meal period.
  • Work banquet food stations as scheduled.
  • Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment.
  • Practice safe work habits at all times to prevent injuries.
  • Familiarize with hotel policies, house rules, and emergency procedures.
  • Use Production Charts as specified by standards.
  • Always be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and colleagues.
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
  • Follow the 'Clean As You Go' policy.
  • Assist in storing and rotating food items according to procedures.
  • Manage keys responsibly under supervision.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.
