Job summary

Toland Law in Hamden, Connecticut, is seeking a part-time paralegal to support our probate and estate planning practice. This role is 15–20 hours per week, primarily in-office with some remote flexibility once trained.

You will work directly with the attorney to prepare documents, manage filings and deadlines, communicate with clients, and keep matters moving smoothly from start to finish. Prior experience in estate planning or probate and strong attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in estate planning and/or probate.

Responsibilities

• Draft probate documents and reports for attorney review
• Prepare initial drafts of estate planning documents (wills, trusts, POAs, etc.)
• File documents with probate courts and government agencies
• Track court notices, deadlines, and required follow-ups
• Draft routine client correspondence using firm templates
• Communicate with clients to gather information and documents
• Maintain organized electronic and physical files
• Help ensure clients feel supported and informed throughout the process
