Job summary

Qualifications

• One year teaching experience.
• Sensitivity to students with diverse backgrounds.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work positively and cooperatively with students and peers.
• Demonstrated ability to perform multi-task assignments.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in English, TOEFL or related field.
• Preferred: Cross-cultural learning experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate academic and life skills lessons for adults who want to learn and improve English language skills.
• Increase students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing abilities.
• Communicate material in a positive and appropriate learning environment.
• Provide direct instruction, small group, and individualized activities as appropriate.
• Maintain paperwork including roster, attendance documents, and lesson plans.
• Communicate with ESOL Director and Retention and Success Coach to support student learning.
• Adhere to all College and Title II-related policies and procedures.
