Job summary

Somerton Elementary School District 11 is seeking an Adult Education Instructor (Temporary/Part-Time) to deliver ESL and GED prep in the Adult Education program. The role is grant-funded, with a 33 USD/hour rate, starting September 2026, and is paid on a time sheets calendar.

The instructor will develop and deliver curricula, assess student progress, and work with staff on retention and attendance. A Bachelor's degree and Fingerprint Clearance are required; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and English preferred.
• One year of Adult Education teaching experience preferred.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card required at time of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ESL/Adult Education instruction based on approved standards.
• Collaborate with staff on student retention and attendance for ESOL/GED prep classes.
• Prepare lesson plans and conduct classes for adults.
• Assess class performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Support professional development activities and attend mandatory staff meetings.
