Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Faculty position in the Languages and Literature Department. The ESL instructor will coordinate, plan, present, and evaluate classroom instruction at multiple campus locations, teaching day, evening, or weekend sessions.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree with related graduate hours and 2 years of higher-ed teaching (or 1 year plus 3 years in the field). Pay is $640 per credit hour.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a related field with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Minimum two years of teaching in higher education or one year plus three years in the field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers ESL instruction and evaluates student progress.
• Develops curricula and instructional materials such as syllabi and handouts.
• Maintains office hours and assists in student recruitment and retention.
• Maintains FERPA-compliant records and attends meetings as required.
• Participates in departmental and college committees and outreach activities.
