Job Description and Position Requirements:

Penn State Behrend is seeking a Fitness Instructor to run and supervise various fitness and health programs.

The classes offered include, but are not limited to: Spin, Step, Yoga, Meditation, HIIT, Zumba, etc.

You will assess the physical and health conditions of students, faculty, and staff, create appropriate exercise plans, and monitor their progress. You will also explain safety rules and regulations related to equipment use.

Ultimately, your goal will be to help our Behrend community enjoy and improve their health through exercise.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee completion of exercise routines
  • Modify exercise plans based on individual needs, potential injuries, or health issues
  • Conduct both individual and group fitness training sessions
  • Ensure proper and safe use of fitness equipment
  • Handle nutrition and health-related questions
  • Promote fitness packages and plans
  • Follow safety and hygiene guidelines

This job requires the following three publicly available clearances:

  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • FBI Criminal Background Check
