Job summary

Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO is seeking an ED Tech to assist in the emergency department. The role involves indirect and direct patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, focusing on bathing, hygiene, feeding, hydration, and positioning.

Qualifications

• Six months experience or greater as an ED Technician or EMT preferred.
• Applicants with no experience must successfully complete the SLHS nursing support training program as a condition of hire to the emergency room.
• A nursing assistant certification, EMT certification, or completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course is equal to 6 months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care tasks as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
• Provide basic patient care such as bathing and hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition feeding and hydration, and ambulation and positioning in the emergency room setting.
• Support patient safety and patient satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds and communicating with the team.
