Job summary

The City of South San Francisco is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician for a non-benefited, part-time/hourly position. The role covers medical aid and transport in emergency and non-emergency settings, operating equipment, and contributing to training and public education efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience: None
• Training: Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses/Certificates: All licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of employment.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Possession of a valid EMT or National Registry Certification, and the ability to be certified by San Mateo County EMS Agency.
• Must possess a valid CPR “Healthcare Provider” card, American Heart Association or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, engages in medical aid treatment and transport activities to protect life.
• Drives, operates, and maintains all assigned department apparatus and equipment.
• Assists and participates in training programs; public education.
• Accurately completes electronic patient care reports, physician certification statements, and incident reports.
• Performs other related duties as required.
