Job description

Prepare and administer laboratory assignments which provide practical experiences for students.

  1. Assign & direct lab exercises for students and classroom instructors.
  2. Advise and assist students with classwork and homework.
  3. Display/demonstrate pertinent tests and procedures.
  4. Maintain student records.
  5. Assist and supervise students.
  6. Provide laboratory evaluation for each student.
  7. Prepare equipment and activities for lab.
  8. Maintain lab equipment.
  9. Prepare and maintain teaching materials as required.
  10. Unpack equipment; check packing slips.
  11. Conduct and maintain lab inventory.
  12. Write and revise lab instructions and materials; prepare for use in lab setting.
  13. Participate in onsite National Registry Practical skills exams.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. Must be a State of Alabama Licensed Paramedic.
  3. ACLS Provider (or equivalent)
  4. PALS Provider (or equivalent)
  5. BLS Provider
  6. ITLS Provider (or equivalent)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Prior experience in supervising personnel.
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  3. Willingness to work directly with students in a lab setting.
  4. Ability to work independently.
  5. Certifications or accomplishments in the field.
  6. Sensitivity and commitment to cultural diversity.
  7. Willingness to learn and work with other occupational areas as required.
  8. An understanding of the role and philosophy of the community college system.
