Job summary

LIFEwest Ambulance is seeking an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) for a part-time, entry-level role in Cotati, CA. You must be enrolled in an EMR program or recently completed, and on track to enroll in an EMT program within six months.

A valid CA driver’s license and CPR/AED + First Aid certification are required. Shifts include 8- and 12-hour assignments, with opportunities to perform wheelchair transports and administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an EMR program or recently completed
• Must be on track to enroll in an EMT program within 6 months of hire
• Current CPR/AED + First Aid Certification
• If you have an EMR certification, this will cover the first aide portion if certification specifically calls out title 22

Responsibilities

• Assist EMTs and paramedics with patient care, packaging, lifting, moving, and transport
• Participate in ride-alongs on Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance transports to assist EMT crews with patient care and operational duties
• Provide wheelchair transportation for non-emergency patients in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Staff standby medical services at special events, including Sonoma Raceway and other community events, providing first response medical care within the EMR scope of practice
• Assist with patient lifting, moving, and transportation using appropriate safety techniques
• Complete accurate patient care reports and maintain required documentation as needed
• Inspect, clean, and restock emergency medical equipment and supplies
• Follow all organizational policies, safety procedures, infection control standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
• Participate in ongoing training, drills, and continuing education to maintain certifications and skills
• Maintain professional, compassionate interactions with patients, families, coworkers, and partner agencies
• Other duties as assigned.
