Job summary

LIFEwest Ambulance in California is seeking an EMT dedicated to delivering patient-centered care and exceptional customer service. The EMT will respond to emergent and non-emergent calls, provide safe patient care, document precisely, and uphold professional conduct across multiple locations, including Cotati and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities include field patient care, equipment readiness, compliance with protocols, and collaboration with dispatch and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current California State EMT certification required (LEMSA county).
• CPR/BLS Provider certification through American Heart Association required.
• California Driver’s License required.
• Ambulance Driver Certificate required.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DL51) required.
• Current H-6 DMV driving record.
• Ability to maintain all required certifications and licenses.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls per company policies and protocols.
• Provide high-quality patient care within EMT scope and under medical control.
• Safely assess, treat, monitor, and transport patients.
• Operate ambulance equipment and vehicles safely and professionally.
• Ensure readiness of medical equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
• Complete accurate patient care documentation for each contact/transport.
• Maintain compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
• Maintain professionalism in interactions with patients, families, staff, and public.
• Identify quality improvement opportunities and participate in initiatives.
