Job summary

Marketplace Chaplains is seeking part-time chaplains to serve employees and their families at client worksites in Sioux Falls, SD. The role involves visiting sites weekly to build relationships and provide pastoral care.

You will offer confidential conversations, spiritual guidance, and support during difficult life events, including illness, grief, and personal challenges. Hours are flexible and not guaranteed, reflecting needs of clients and chaplain availability.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in an interfaith setting and with diverse beliefs.
• Effective listening and client interaction skills.
• Spiritual maturity and Christian lifestyle aligned with MCHAP values.
• Diplomacy, patience and courtesy with diverse groups.
• Excellent oral and written communication and emotional stability.
• Analytical skills to define and follow up on problems.
• Computer proficiency with Google Suites and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as messenger of faith, mission and purpose.
• Visit worksites weekly to build relationships with employees.
• Provide confidential pastoral discussions for personal issues.
• Assist in planning or attending funerals and grief support.
• Coordinate notifications of death and serious injuries to families.
• Provide post-termination care to ease transitions.
• Share ministry literature and resources with employees.
