ALDER ELEMENTARY is seeking a Health & Safety Assistant to join Reynolds SD 7 in Portland, Oregon. This part-time role covers 3.5 hours per day, with a salary range of $19.50 to $31.24 per hour, starting immediately.

The assistant provides health services, dispenses medications, and supports student safety during non-classroom activities under supervision. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, First Aid/CPR certification, and ability to work with students and staff with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with students
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Effective communication with staff, students, and the public
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Training: Bloodborne Pathogens, Medication Administration, Emergency Glucagon Providers, Treatment of Severe Allergic Reaction
• Bilingual/Bicultural preferred

Responsibilities

• Dispenses medications
• Provides authorized first aid to students
• Provides delegated health care tasks for students with chronic health problems
• Consults with higher level staff when situations arise outside normal scope
• Composes reports for administrators and staff regarding student health and safety
• Ensures safety and welfare during non-classroom activities
• Performs other related duties as assigned
