Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge relative to teaching the basics of art.
• Ability to organize instructional activities, promotional activities, and general program management activities.
• Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
• Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Teaches the basics of art.
• Correlates art with other aspects of the curriculum, such as language arts, social studies, science, and art.
• Works with the Building Administrator to provide appropriate art instruction.
• Encourages and motivates the enjoyment of various forms of art by providing varied opportunities.
• Works with other art staff in planning and preparing activities and lessons for classes.
• Assists classroom teachers in incorporating art into their curriculum.
• Attends in-service classes, building meetings, and district meetings as requested.
• Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
• Has regular and predictable attendance.
