Job summary

Right At School is hiring an Educator to provide before/after school enrichment in local districts. The role supports a morning and afternoon schedule with split shifts and up to 25.83 hours per week, requiring a home base location but flexibility to visit other schools within the district.

Ideal candidates will have a year of child experience, strong customer service, and a passion for inspiring a love of learning while maintaining safety and engaging activities for children.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience working with children under 13 years old.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Meet state-specific requirements for Ohio.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (in-person).
  • TB test clearance and MMR proof.
  • 18+ years old and HS diploma/ GED.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily program meetings to review goals, updates and progress.
  • Organize and facilitate daily activities and curriculum aligned with program objectives.
  • Model safe, nurturing behavior and effective classroom management.
  • Prioritize safety and joy; document attendance and incidents as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students! Educator Pay Rate: $15.00-$18.00 (based on education and experience)

Program Hours

Schedule: Monday-Friday, split shift Morning shift: 06:30 AM-08:30 AM Afternoon shift: 02:50 PM-06:00 PM This role may be scheduled for up to 25.83 hours per week. Your schedule may vary based on business needs.

You will have a "home base" location but can be asked to go to different schools within the district.

You'll drive the mission by:
  • Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas,discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
  • Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program's objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
  • Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
  • Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
  • Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
Ideal Candidates will have the following:
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age
  • Ability to lift 25lbs
  • Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
  • Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed
Ohio State Requirements:
  • Ability to meet state-specific requirements;
  • First Aid and CPR-in-person
  • Cleared tuberculosis test
  • Proof of MMR
  • 18+ years of age
  • Proof of High School diploma/GED required
