Job summary

Right At School in Dunlap, IL is hiring an Educator for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with slight variations by site, and focuses on safe, engaging after-school activities that blend learning with play.

You will plan and lead daily activities, support a nurturing environment, and communicate with children, families, and school staff while upholding safety protocols and program goals.

Qualifications

• State-specific requirements may apply.
• At least 1 year of verifiable experience working with children under 13 in a childcare/school setting.
• First Aid and CPR training (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Cleared tuberculosis test (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Proof of MMR as required.
• Must be 18+ years old and have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Daily Program Meetings: review goals, updates, and progress.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities aligned with objectives.
• Lead activities and curriculum that are educational and enjoyable.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing environment and model positive guidance.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff and school personnel.

Educator

Educator: Up to $18.00 per hour (based on education & experience)

Locations: Dunlap School District

Hours: Monday - Friday, 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm*, with the exception of Wednesday, 2:00pm-6:00pm

Hours may vary per individual school

You’ll Drive The Mission By

• Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Ideal Candidates Will Have The Following

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
• Works well in a team environment
• At least 1 year of verifiable experience working with children under 13 years of age in a childcare group type setting
• Ability to lift 25lbs
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed

Requirements

• Ability to meet state-specific requirements;
• At least 1 year of verifiable experience working with children under 13 years of age in a childcare/school setting
