Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education or related field; minimum 5 years K-12 teaching experience.
• Currently hold and maintain a valid professional educator license.
• Flexible availability during the school day is necessary.
• Proficiency with email, inputting observation notes, fillable PDFs, and basic computer skills.
• Strong communication between Xavier University and field placement is required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to school sites each semester as designated by Field Coordinator.
• Observe teacher candidates and provide feedback on dispositions and pedagogy.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students to support their development.
• Guide and support teacher candidates in their growth as novice teachers.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with teacher candidates and cooperating teachers.
• Serve as first point of contact for candidates and cooperating teachers; troubleshoot issues.
• Student Teaching Supervision – 4–6 site visits; Clinicals Supervision – 1–2 site visits.
