Qualifications

• Training in Adult Basic Education and/or a related field.
• Speaker of other languages preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Ability to develop rapport with diverse people.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and databases.

Responsibilities

• Assist Education Services Program Manager in guiding and mentoring students.
• Assist with administering and tabulating student assessments and surveys.
• Tutor students when needed.
• Interview and evaluate new students to determine language level.
• Monitor student progress in curriculum.
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing atmosphere for children.
• Assist in guiding and mentoring volunteer tutors.
• Act as mentor and supervisor of volunteers.
• Assist with record keeping and database entry.
• Maintain student, tutor, and program files/statistics and data.
• Maintain daily tutoring schedules and provide reports as needed.
• Maintain educational materials for tutors and students.
• Support other aspects of the program as requested.
