Job summary

Clear Creek Amana CSD is seeking an afternoon 0.5 TE Aide / Associate to assist teachers in instruction, supervision and care of students with disabilities at Tiffin Elementary (Tiffin, IA). The 11:30 am–3:30 pm schedule supports preschool programs and daily activities, with duties spanning general and special education settings.

Responsibilities include supporting instruction, behavior management and student records while collaborating with teachers, staff, and families.

Qualifications

• Experience with children preferred but not required
• Post-secondary coursework in educational field preferred but not required
• Initiative and self-starting attitude
• Ability to work well with teachers, staff, administrators, and parents
• Flexibility in assignment and good judgment in problem situations
• Proficiency with standard office equipment

Responsibilities

• Attend work promptly and regularly
• Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships
• Assist classroom teacher with educational activities
• Follow behavior management plans for students
• Assist with instruction in community/settings as required
• Lift, carry and position students with disabilities as needed
• Prepare instructional materials and organize student work folders
• Participate in IEP meetings and support plans
• Ensure a safe, orderly instructional environment
