Job summary

The Walt Disney Company’s ESPN division is seeking an Associate Editor Apps for part-time work in Bristol, CT. You will edit and maintain ESPN Mobile App content, assess stories from a variety of sources, and shape headlines and presentation to engage a national audience.

This role requires strong headline writing, quick judgment, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks. Nights, weekends and holidays shifts are common; 29 hours per week with pay transparency and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a high-level sports media environment.
• Expert knowledge of NFL, NBA, MLB, UFC, College Football and College Basketball.
• Understand fan engagement data and metrics to optimize content creation and distribution.
• Strong understanding of news and story play.
• Excellent headline writing and SEO awareness.
• Able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess multiple stories daily and maintain an overall style and voice.
• Involve in short and long-term editorial planning and programming strategies.
• Manage and track contributions from ESPN reporters; vet video content for prominent placement.
• Develop in-depth projects and daily content across platforms.
