The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

  • Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis.
  • As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employee’s responsibility.
  • Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Job Description

Woodland Community College is actively searching for a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates to fill part-time faculty (Adjunct) teaching positions. These opportunities are available on an ongoing basis to meet the evolving needs of the college. Prospective applicants can expect to be contacted and hired throughout the year in response to the institution’s specific instructional requirements. The adjunct pools remain open year-round and are routinely refreshed every two years to ensure an updated and dynamic group of potential educators.

BASIC FUNCTION
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Economics courses up to 10 hours/week.
  • Organize and teach all levels of Economics classes.
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and post grades regularly.
  • Respond to student communication in a timely manner.
REQUIRED DUTIES

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s in economics.
  • Bachelor’s in economics AND Master’s in business, business administration, business management, business education, finance, or political science.

Equivalency Requirement: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. This ensures that candidates either meet the standard qualifications or have received official recognition of their equivalent qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Economics to community college students.

Physical Demands

Range/Step: Class I - VII (Based on degree and teaching experience).

Salary Range

Benefits Information: Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
