JEFFERSON COUNTY SD 509J EARLY LEARNING PROGRAM in Madras, Oregon, is seeking an Educational Assistant II for childcare on a part-time basis. The role supports teachers and school staff, assisting in instructional activities and student supervision at Madras High School.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent; 18+ years old; Register with Oregon Professional Childcare Registry; First Aid / CPR Certified and hold a food handlers card.
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education; or an Associate’s (or higher) degree; or met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate through a formal assessment or para-educator program, knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics.
• 1-2 years preschool / childcare experience in a school environment preferred.
• 30 credit hours in Early Childhood or 100 hours of childcare work; CDA within a year after hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher or building administrator in a supportive capacity; adapt to various support tasks within the educational environment.
• Work under supervision of licensed educators; schedule own work and determine impediments; minimal planning required.
