Job summary

Jefferson County School District in Madras, Oregon, is seeking a Temporary Educational Assistant II - Health Room/Case Manager Assistant to support teachers and school administrators at Jefferson County Middle School.

The role requires working seven hours daily across a 10-month schedule, with duties spanning classroom support, health room activities, and student case management, under licensed educator supervision.

Qualifications

• Have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age; and
• Have standards of moral character as required of teachers (OAR 584-005-0005).
• Have or obtain, and maintain First Aid/CPR/Epi Pen/Medication Administration certifications
• Educational Assistants must have: Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an Associate’s (or higher) degree; or met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate through a formal state, or local academic assessment or para-educator certificate program, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing: Reading, writing, and mathematics; or reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate (Assessment is offered by District).

Responsibilities

• The educational assistant shall assist the teacher or building administrator in a supportive capacity.
• The role is adaptable to many support tasks within the educational environment.
• This position has little to no planning responsibility beyond scheduling own work and determining impediments to own work schedule.

Education
