Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Child Care Teacher Assistant to support early childhood education in a caring community setting.

You will assist the teacher in caring for children from 6 weeks to 9 years, with programs designed around developmental needs, safety, and teamwork with families and staff. This is a day shift, part-time role in Clinton, Iowa, and MercyOne is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• CPR within 3 months of hire.
• First aid certification within 3 months if >20 hours per pay period.
• Pass pre-employment health assessment and every 3 years thereafter.
• Background check for child abuse and criminal records initially and periodically.
• Must be 18+ (or 16+ when working with a child care teacher).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in the care of children aged 6 weeks to 9 years.
• Support programs designed around developmental needs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive learning environment.
