Job summary

Union Settlement Association, Inc. in New York, NY is hiring a part-time Teacher's Aide to support early childhood education under the supervision of the Educational Directors/Site Director. The role runs either 8:30am-1:30pm or 1pm-6pm, on-site at Leggett Memorial, Union Johnson, and Union Carver locations.

The position pays $20.00 per hour and is non-exempt. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED (or pursuing an Associate’s/Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or CDA).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or enrollment in related degree program.
• CDA credential preferred and must be current to be valid.
• One year of experience with preschool-age children preferred.
• Clearances (PETS and SCR) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing educational goals appropriate to children's age and development.
• Help create and implement weekly lesson plans with approved curriculum.
• Maintain safe, organized classroom environment and report hazards.
