Job summary

Caltech seeks a part-time, temporary Employee Assistance Counselor/Consultant to join the Staff and Faculty Consultation Center. The role provides brief confidential counseling to employees, post‑docs, faculty, and household members, with timely referrals to service providers.

The SFCC supports crisis response, campus outreach, and collaboration with managers and HR to promote workplace well-being. Requires CA licensure and a Master’s degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health field; CA licensure in psychology, MFT, LCSW, or LPCC.
• 5+ years of related experience including individual, couple, and family therapy.
• Strong clinical assessment and crisis management skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply specialized knowledge to provide EAP counseling and referrals.
• Consult with managers, faculty, and HR to enhance workplace functioning.
• Provide direct services during campus crises and disaster planning.
• Conduct outreach with campus populations and develop multi-session groups.
• Maintain links with Institute personnel and community resources.
• Collaborate with organizations on program planning and assessment.
• Manage deadlines and work independently.
• Maintain complete and timely records.
• Adhere to professional ethical standards.
