Job summary

ncgCARE in Asheville, NC is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide daily, person-centered care in a group home setting. This mid-shift role (3PM-11PM) offers a consistent schedule, paid training, and weekends off.

No experience required; training provided. You will assist with daily living activities, follow PCP and behavior plans, document care, respond to emergencies, and support clients' independence.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Vehicle with insurance preferred.
• Ability to work all weekly scheduled shifts
• Physical ability to navigate stairs and barriers in private residences.
• Training provided; experience optional.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily, individualized care focused on client safety, health, and well-being.
• Help with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and routine support.
• Follow each client’s PCP and behavior support plan.
• Support clients in building independence, daily living skills, and social skills.
• Complete daily documentation and incident reports accurately and on time.
• Respond to crisis situations and emergencies with professionalism and empathy.
• Support clients with communication needs, including adaptive tools when needed.
• Additional duties as required to meet client needs.
