Job summary

Devereux Pocono Center is seeking a part-time driver to provide safe transportation for adults with developmental disabilities in our Pocono Center programs. Hours vary between 15 and 30 per week and operate on a split shift similar to a school van schedule.

Payrates start at $18.00–$20.52 per hour depending on experience, with PayActiv available. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, two or more years of driving experience, and a PA driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Two+ years driving experience; good documentation and organizational skills; valid PA driver's license with clean record.
• Physical requirements include ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and to safely operate Devereux vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and appropriate transportation for all Pocono Center residents.
• Be responsible for supervision of residents when professional accompaniment is not necessary.
• Assist Coordinator in vehicle maintenance.
• Perform safety inspections on assigned vehicles and keep them clean inside and out.
• Respond to emergency situations as necessary.
• Serve as courier when needed.
• Attend in-service training programs to develop skills in dealing with residents effectively.
• Exercise the rules of safety at all times.
• Have access to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that support our diverse employee population.
• Perform related duties, special assignments and projects as assigned by coordinator.
