Job summary

Cox Automotive in Manheim, PA is hiring a Driver I - Non-DOT to safely move, stage, and park vehicles at our Cox location. The role follows auction rules with a day schedule: Mon-Wed 7:00 am–3:30 pm; Thu-Fri 7:30 am–4:00 pm. Pay is $15.27 per hour, with potential incentives available.

Responsibilities include driving through auction lanes, parking in order, and assisting with basic vehicle operations and safety tasks. A valid license is required; HS diploma preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Previous auction experience preferred.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.

Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicles through Auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
  • Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing Auction driving rules and the road.
  • Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the supervisor; move vehicles as necessary and locate lost vehicles.
  • Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed.
  • Inflate tires and jump-start vehicles using a battery box and air tank if necessary.
  • Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; notify the Service or Gas Truck Driver when the vehicle is out of gas.
  • Assist customers and coworkers as needed.
  • Demonstrate safety by following procedures and participating in safety activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May work overtime as needed.

Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program. Job Description This position is responsible for the safe moving, staging, and parking of vehicles. Driving cars through Auction lanes on designated sale days and in compliance with Auction safety rules and regulations.

Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 7:00 am- 3:30 pm Thursday and Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm Pay rate: $15.27 per hr.

Job Responsibilities
  • Drive vehicles through Auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
  • Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing Auction driving rules, and rules of the road and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
  • Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate "lost" vehicles.
  • Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed.
  • Inflate tires and jump-start vehicles using a battery box and air tank if necessary.
  • Notify the supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; notify the Service or Gas Truck Driver when the vehicle is out of gas.
  • Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to walk long distances.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, and climbing are frequently required.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous auction experience preferred.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission
Work Environment

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.
