DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Safely provide scheduled transportation to the residents within the guidelines established by the facility. Pre-heat and cool the van for resident comfort as necessary.
  • Pre-check the van before each trip.
  • Assist residents on and off the vehicles from the door of entry and exit.
  • Comply with all government regulations, including rules of the road and OSHA, as well as facility policies.
  • Maintain the vehicle by advising the Activity Director of needed preventive maintenance or repairs and keep a vehicle log for trips and maintenance. Ensure the van is clean and safe.
  • Practice safety in the performance of duties and the use of vehicles, fuels, etc.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, treating all residents with dignity and respect. Strive to increase resident satisfaction.
  • Read maps, utilize resources such as a telephone book, and follow instructions. Have adequate communication skills in English to relate to residents, staff, medical staff, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining internal controls of the key system.
  • Assist residents with wall hangings, shelves, clocks, and any concessions given at the time of move-in. Work with the Housekeeping manager to ensure the checklist is completed by the new resident and filed for reference at the time of move-out.
  • Perform work orders.
