Job summary

Abound Health is seeking a compassionate Driver's Aide / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD during transportation and community activities in Greenville, Mercer, Hermitage, and Sharon PA. The role includes driving company routes on Tuesdays and occasional additional coverage, ensuring safety and person-centered support throughout the day.

The position offers part-time hours with paid onboarding and training, and benefits eligibility based on hours worked.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Ability to safely transport individuals when assigned driving duties.
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (training provided upon hire).
• Starting pay: $16.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals during transportation to and from home, day programs, appointments, and community activities
• Safely operate a vehicle when assigned routes require coverage
• Assist individuals with entering and exiting vehicles as needed
• Monitor passenger safety, comfort, and well-being during transit
• Provide companionship and support while encouraging independence
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicles
• Follow transportation schedules and communicate delays or concerns
• Complete required daily logs, documentation, and incident reports
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
• Work independently while adapting to changing transportation needs
• Drive safely in all weather conditions when necessary
