Job summary

Friendship is seeking conscientious Drivers for a part-time role in Roanoke, VA. You will transport residents using the Friendship bus or taxi, assist with boarding and exiting, and follow scheduled pick-up and drop-off times.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Virginia driver's license, and CDL may be preferred. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Transporting residents using the Friendship bus or taxi.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle in a safe manner.
• Adhere to scheduled pick up and drop off times; anticipate travel times to meet schedules.
• Inspect vehicles for cleanliness; remove trash and sanitize handles after each transport.
• Adhere to vehicle maintenance standards; report issues to Director.

Friendship is looking for Drivers to join our team on aPart-Time basis! Hours and hours vary. CDL a plus! Some short weekend hours required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• CDL preferred
• Valid Driver’s License in the state of Virginia
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move objects weighing 50 pounds
• Use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and walk

Responsibilities:

• Transporting residents using the Friendship bus or taxi
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle in safe manner
• Adhere to scheduled pick up and drop off times; anticipates travel times to accommodate schedules
• Examine vehicles for cleanliness; remove any trash and clean car handles with anti-bacterial wipes after each transport
• Adhere to vehicle maintenance standards; examine vehicles regularly and reports any maintenance or safety issues to Director immediately
• Assist with resident activities as directed
