Job summary

Archinect in New Orleans is seeking a part-time architectural drafter to support a 3-month engagement (10–20 hours/week). The ideal candidate has extensive experience in light commercial Tenant Improvement projects and can deliver accurate, bidding-ready drawings.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required; SketchUp or Rhino is a plus. The role is a 1099 contractor position, with US-based applicants prioritized, especially those near New Orleans, LA.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional project experience focused on light commercial TI projects.
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with SketchUp or Rhino is a plus.
• Candidate will be engaged as a 1099 contractor and is responsible for providing all hardware and software utilized during the engagement.

Responsibilities

• Drafting full architectural CD sets for commercial restaurant and retail projects (including millwork/restroom detailing).
• Translate redlines and design direction into polished drawing sets suitable for bidding and construction.
• Ensure all drawings comply with building codes and internal firm standards.
• Collaborate with the team via email and participate in weekly check-ins.

About the Role:

We are a New Orleans-based firm seeking reliable, part-time drafting support for an initial 3-month engagement, estimated at 10-20 hours/week. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in light commercial Tenant Improvement projects and can step in to support our team with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting full architecturalCD sets (including millwork / restroom detailing) for commercial restaurant and retail projects
• Accurately translate redlines and design direction into polished drawing sets suitable for bidding and construction
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes and internal firm standards.
• Collaborate with our team via email regularly during the week and participate in (1) weekly check in on work and prioritization.

Requirements:

• Must be based in and have practiced in the United States. International applicants and outsourced drafting companies will not be considered. Candidates based in or near New Orleans, LA, will be prioritized.
• 6+ years of professional project experience, specifically focused on light commercial TI projects.
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience withSketchup or Rhino is a plus.

Compensation:

• Compensation will be hourly and commensurate with experience.
