Job summary

City of Gainesville, GA is seeking a Security Officer to perform administrative and security duties to protect downtown parking decks, sidewalks, and public spaces. You will respond to incidents, conduct patrols, monitor cameras, and assist officers with parking and patron issues, while following established policies and procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class C Driver’s License, and the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in law enforcement or court system preferred.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and prioritize duties.
• Ability to maintain effective relationships with the public.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of the downtown parking decks.
• Monitor security cameras for illegal activity in the downtown area.
• Organize and maintain a secure parking deck and respond to stressful situations.
• Provide assistance to officers with parking and patron issues in the downtown area.
• Respond to incidents of disruptive and nuisance activities in downtown parking decks, and assist Sworn Patrol Officers as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.
