Job summary

Martin's Famous Potato Rolls and Bread in Chambersburg, PA is seeking a Part-Time Dough Preparation Laborer to join our production team. You will set up, monitor, and adjust dough-making machines to ensure consistent quality.

Shifts start around 8:30pm and run up to 12 hours; as a part-time employee you will not exceed 30 hours per week. We offer 401K, disability insurance and paid holidays, plus a profit-sharing bonus and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Related baking or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, monitors, and adjusts machines including mixer, SBD, sheeter, pan line, oven, and proofer.
• Weighs dough to ensure consistency within specified standards.
• Mixes dry and wet ingredients and loads into mixer.
• Loads ingredients into hopper from conveyor, scales, or hand-trucks.
• Performs preoperational inspection and reports equipment issues.
• Assists with jams on the line to reduce scrap and maintains product flow.
• Monitors product flow, identifies imperfections, and takes corrective action.
• Ensures pans are centered and properly oriented in proofer and oven.
• Sets guides for product changeovers and provides pans for current product.
• Operates pan stacker, un-stacker, and depanning equipment.
• Removes trash and operates the trash compactor; supports forklift operation as needed.
• Adheres to safety, food safety, and GMP regulations and reports issues.

$22.06/ hour - Paid Weekly!

$3.00/ hour shift differential (required to work 4+ consecutive hours between 3pm-7am)

• Your shift schedule will be between 8 to 12 hours a day and will typically start at 8:30pm. For example 8:30pm - 4:40am, 4:30pm - 4:40am or some variation in between .
• As a Part-Time employee you will not work more than 30 hours/week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Sets up, monitors, and adjusts machines including mixer, SBD, sheeter, pan line, oven, and proofer in accordance with fluctuating environment, ingredients, and demands.
• Weighs dough ball to ensure consistency within specified standards.
• Mixes dry and wet ingredients together to create dough (reads recipe, places ingredients in mixer both manually and automatically).
• Loads ingredients into mixing machine hopper from conveyor, scales, or hand-trucks.
• Performs preoperational inspection and reports any broken, damaged or missing equipment to supervisor.
• Assists when pan, oven, or proofer jams occur on the line to reduce scrap.
• Monitors flow of product entering oven, recognizes any imperfections or problems and takes immediate action to make corrections.
• Shakes pans to center dough balls in pocket.
• Ensure pans are turned properly in the proofer and oven.
• Sets guides for product change over.
• Provides production system with appropriate type and number of pans for current product.
• Loads, unloads and operates the pan stacker, pan un-stacker, and de-panning equipment.
• Removes trash from facility and loads trash compactor.
• Operates forklift to supply line with tubs of mix.
• Adheres to and enforces safety, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.
• Reports food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
