Please Note: Excellent customer service skills are a must! Please tell us about your availability. Availability to work evenings and weekends is preferred for this position.

Pay: $16.15/hr. This position is eligible for Daily Pay! Work today, get paid today! We've partnered with DailyPay, a voluntary benefit to offer employees access to their pay on their own schedule. Part-time employees in our Retail and Sales/Operations Division are eligible for paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. Job Summary:

The Donation Services Associate I is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers. They provide excellent and friendly customer service by greeting customers promptly and assisting as needed, which may include lifting or unloading donations from vehicles or other areas. Associates are expected to handle goods with care and respect for donated items.

Essential Functions:
  1. Provides excellent customer service by greeting customers promptly and answering product questions.
  2. Assists customers by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
  3. Ensures donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
  4. Inspects donations within assigned areas and makes decisions on quality for sorting for the sales floor or shipping to other locations.
  5. Maintains a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees at donation entrances and parking lots.
  6. Maintains remote donation centers shed and trailer, following opening and closing procedures.
  7. Keeps supplies well-stocked at remote sites as necessary.
  8. Tracks and reports donation levels daily to prevent overstocking in remote centers.
  9. Follows all retail center policies and safety procedures.
  10. Cross-trains in other departments and acts as a backup as required.
  11. Performs additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
  • One year of retail experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to make decisions following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills for logging into systems and email communication.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Use of safety equipment for lifting heavy objects.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and staff.
