Please Note: Excellent customer service skills are a must! Please tell us about your availability. Availability to work evenings and weekends is preferred!

Pay: $16.57 Hr. This position is eligible for Daily Pay! Work today, get paid today! We've partnered with DailyPay, a voluntary benefit to offer employees access to their pay on their own schedule.

Part Time employees in Retail, Sales/Operations are eligible for paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty and bereavement leave. All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan - must be 18 years of age to participate.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Donation Services Associate I is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers. They provide excellent customer service by greeting customers promptly and assisting as needed, which may include lifting or unloading donations from vehicles or other areas. Associates are expected to handle donated goods with care, respecting the items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides excellent customer service, greeting customers promptly and answering product questions.
  • Assists customers by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
  • Handles donated items with care and sorts them into appropriate bins or areas.
  • Inspects donations and decides on quality for sorting for sale or shipping.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and staff at donation areas.
  • Maintains remote donation centers, following opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensures supplies are stocked at remote sites as needed.
  • Tracks donation levels daily to prevent overstocking.
  • Follows retail policies and safety procedures.
  • Cross-trains in other departments and acts as backup as required.
  • Performs additional duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
  • One year of retail experience preferred.
Other:
  • Ability to make decisions based on Goodwill standards.
  • Basic computer skills for logging and emailing.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Use of safety equipment for lifting heavy objects.
  • Effective communication skills and flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
