Job summary

Florida National University, Inc. is seeking a part-time Diagnostic Medical Sonography Adjunct Faculty member to develop course outlines, plans, and assessments, delivering lectures and directing student progress within the Allied Health Division.

The ideal candidate holds ARDMS certification with an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred) and at least two years of clinical experience, plus curriculum development and public speaking proficiency. Commitment to FERPA and ethics is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor's or master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of documented clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography or related field.
• Unrestricted ARDMS certification and registration or equivalent license.
• Strong curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising skills.
• Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities; proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and maintain effective plans of organization for FNU with detailed assignment of responsibility.
• Lead classroom instruction and monitor student progress in alignment with faculty responsibilities.
• Direct goals and objectives with coordination from the Allied Health Division Head and program requirements.
• Provide timely feedback to students on papers/tests (typically within one week).
• Regularly review and update course materials; employ varied teaching methods where feasible.
• Participate in cross-disciplinary teaching or related activities; communicate department status and developments clearly.
