Job summary

Seekonk Public Schools District-wide in Seekonk, Massachusetts is seeking a Day-to-Day Substitute School Nurse to join the health services team. This part-time position reports to the Building Principal and supports health assessments, emergency care, and collaboration with SPED staff.

The role requires Massachusetts RN registration, experience with electronic health records, and familiarity with health policy implementation in school settings.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Board of Registration is required.
• Experience with electronic health records.
• Experience with orthopedic assessment of injuries.
• Familiar with policy writing/revisions in MA state laws and MDPH.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and assesses the health needs of students.
• Assists the physician in health appraisals of students when indicated.
• Develops a plan for eliminating or addressing health issues with students, parents and school personnel.
• Coordinates and conducts preventative state-mandated screenings and notifies parents of referrals.
• Maintains health records and communicates health restrictions with physicians.
• Provides emergency care in case of injury or illness.
• Implements health promotion programs for students.
